Udaipur to Dungarpur – 110 K

This place is the BEST so far! It really is a Palace! Everyone gravitated to the pool after arriving and so did I.. AFTER a nap. There is an infinity pool that appears to spill over into the lake and just offshore is a temple. Here’s the temple:

And the pool with the palace to the far right:

I became fast friends with several furry critters. A spoiled squirrel felt free to jump on the table and snag one of the greasy fries that Jan had ordered. Plus there are 3 sweet great danes on the property. They are loving the attention of all the guests: Here’s one of the girls hanging just outside our room here:

Along with a boxer and 2 FAT labs, there are turtles and exotic birds here: Here’s the princess of the palace:

Dinner was unbelievable! The table was in an outdoor room with rock mosaics surrounding it on 3 sides. The center of the table is filled with water and flowers and it was large enough for the whole group. We all felt very pampered… even the moon made its appearance directly overhead after dark.

I thought I would start introducing you to my fellow riders – this is Henry. He is the founder of Tour d’Afrique and most days he is our sweep. Henry is from Czech Republic and speaks with a wonderful accent. His mother spent the first week with us and she is a hoot – she’s 85 and traveling the world. With Henry’s laid back nature he keeps tabs on everyone but lets the leaders do all the work.
